Decode legacy subtitle text and save UTF-8
Use the encoding fixer when subtitle characters appear as mojibake, boxes or unexpected symbols because the file was decoded with the wrong character set. Choose the source encoding, preview the decoded text and save a UTF-8 copy. The browser performs the decoding locally. This tool cannot reconstruct characters that were already destroyed or replaced before the file reached you, so always check names and non-Latin text after conversion.
