Why translate into several languages at once

Teams that ship the same content in several markets translate the same source over and over. Doing the whole job once per language multiplies the upload, the review and the formatting work, and it makes it easy to end up with inconsistent terminology between versions.

A single operation keeps the source version identical across all targets, so every output starts from the same English document and differs only in language.

How multi-target translation works

Upload one English document, choose between one and five target languages, and the tool creates an independent translation job per language. A failure in one language never blocks the others.

The result is one translated document per target, for example report_ES.docx, report_FR.docx, report_DE.docx, report_IT.docx and report_PT.docx. When at least two outputs are ready, you can download each one individually or a ZIP with the completed translations.

The example below shows one operation on the same source document. Three targets complete, one is still translating, and one fails: the completed outputs remain downloadable, the ZIP only bundles what finished, and the failed target does not stop the rest.

Multi-target translation works across the supported document formats, from Word and Excel to plain text, HTML and OpenDocument files.

Check the analysis before translating

Before translation starts, Polyglot Tool analyzes the uploaded file and shows the format, size, approximate word count, source language and the selected target languages. If a document exceeds the limits, translation does not start and you get a concrete message instead of a generic error.

Review each language version

Each output is automatic machine translation and can contain errors. Review important, legal, medical, financial or professional documents before relying on a translated version. Because each target is produced independently, check terminology consistency across the versions you ship.

Privacy across languages

Document Translator is server-side: the document is uploaded to the Polyglot Tool server for processing with models hosted on Polyglot infrastructure. It is never sent to Google, DeepL, OpenAI or other external translation services. Files are deleted automatically after the retention period.

This is a different architecture from the browser-based subtitle translators, which process subtitle text on your device. Each document language target is processed independently, and the ZIP contains only the completed translations.
